Acute inflammation is created using carragenan induced rat paw edema. Several compounds have been screened for last many years at Raj Biotech using this model.

Subacute inflammation

Cotton pellet granuloma, air pouch granuloma model is frequently used at our place to screen compounds for their sub acute anti-inflammatory activity

Chronic inflammation

FCA model of chronic inflammation is being used as a model for screening compounds with chronic anti-inflammatory activity. MAny parameters like IL2, IL6, CRP, PGE are screened.

Analgesics

Peripheral Analgesic Activity

Acetic acid writhing model is used to screen peripheral analgesic activity. It is routinely used at Raj Biotech to screen compounds.

Central Analgesic Activity

Tail immersion test and hot plate thermal hyperalgesia are undertaken regularly for screening this activity. Opoids or central analgesics are banned for usage, making this test very important and unique.
