Cardiovascular Diseases

Hypertension

Hypertension model of continuous and high systolic blood pressure is created using unilateral nephrectomy followed by DOCA salt. Once hypertension is created, the animals are monitored for blood pressure by trained technical staff using NIBP ( ADI Instruments) Power Lab Systems.

Several hypertension studies have been undertaken to screen the activity / efficacy of test compound in lowering the raised systolic blood pressure.

Hypertension & Triglycerimia

Triglycerimia is induced using a well standardized fructose induced rodent model. Used for screening of several compounds for lowering serum triglycerides, a marker for lipid disorder and cardiovascular diseases.

The statins and lipid lowering compounds are usually screened using this model to test their efficacy, as they are close to human pathological condition.

Hypercholesterimia

Serum cholesterol is elevated in rodents by feeding them with HFD (High Fat Diet). Then this model is used for screening the compounds for lowering the lipid profile, especially for lowering total cholesterol LPL...etc.

Models are avialble with cholesterol feeding and cocktail of feed to increase the cholesterol values.

Rabbit model of hypercholestemia is also available for such screening.

Antherosclerosis

Antherosclerosis is induced in rodent by giving them HFD or using triton model for screening compounds, which are anti antherosclerotic. Compounds acting on cholesterol biosysnthesis pathway I and II also can be assayed using this model.

Raj Biotech has screened various compounds using above models in rats and rabbits to test their efficacy.

If you want any other model, please let us know. We are ready to develop it for your or customize it for you.
