( I A E C )
It is mandatory under CPCSEA
registration that, each experiment is judged by an ethical committee. The
members of this committee are Scientists, Social workers, Animal Lovers,
Biotechnologists, Doctors... They are trained and approved by the Government of
India-Ministry of Social welfare. If the Experiment is not unique, then it is
not passed by this Committee.. In Raj Biotech, Ethics Committee holds regular
meetings.
No study is conducted without approval of the committee.
Raj
Biotech strictly follows 3 R's. Reduction, Replacement and Refinement, for
designing of animal experiments.

2 - Institutional Bio-Safety
Committee
( I B S C
)Institutional Bio-Safety Committee is being constituted for
transgenic animal work. The role of the committee would be -
- Review and
clearance of project proposals
- Monitor biohazard potential.
- Training
of personnel on bio-safety.
- In - house Health Monitoring of Lab
personnel.
- Transgenic Animal work
- Work involving recombinant products
(drugs, plants)and infectious materials.
The committee is constituted of
scientists from field of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Medical Profession,
Microbiology, Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health & Hygiene. Govt. Of
India, Ministry Of Science & Technology, Department Of Biotechnology has
nominated DBT representative in the IBSC of Raj Biotech.
Raj Biotech will
seek IBSC clearance for any work involving r-DNA, infectious material or
radioactive material.
Raj Biotech strictly do not conduct any experiment not
approved by IBSC.
